She has been organizing from a very young age and has always felt the need to have things in order. In her teen years, she would often purge and organize her bedroom and set her unwanted items in the hallway for her mom to get rid of them. Her first organizing "job" was when she was 13; she stayed at a friend's house for a week, and helped purge seven garbage bags of clutter from her room and reorganized her bedroom. Getting married and relocating often because of her husband's job has furthered her desire for order and peace in their home. Her love for helping others reduce stress in their lives and her natural born tendency towards organization prompted her to become a professional organizer in 2017 after her boys started to go off to college.

Swalms Organizing Service helps clients get organized and de-cluttered! Basements, attics, closets, garages, store rooms, office, shop spaces, home interiors and small commercial spaces. Many clients simply want a clean and neat area once again after years of clutter. I offer assistance with downsizing as well.

When I help a client get organized, I go through ALL belongings in a space - inspecting all bags, boxes, and containers. I group similar belongings as I work and help clients decide what to keep, to donate, to give to the kids and what to throw away. Sorted items are then boxed or placed into tubs and labeled. I take items for donations to places specified by my clients. Items such as cardboard, steel, paint and chemicals I take to recycling centers. Trash is bagged and ready for disposal. When my work is finished, the space is organized AND clean. Also, I can build quick, solid custom shelving which fits into almost any space - getting belongings up off the floor and easy to access.

My background: I have a degree in Industrial Design from the Kansas City Art Institute, for 15 years owned and operated a fiberglass manufacturing and design company in Kansas City and have 20 years of hands-on organizing experience.
