When I meet a new client for the first time I always take notice of the systems they already have in place. Most 'unorganized' people have systems that do work, they just may not work well. I take a tour of their space, consider what blocks I find in their current system, and gently propose a new direction. No judging, no blaming -- especially from the client towards themselves!
