Katie McAllister is the owner of Susquehanna Professional Organizing in York, Pennsylvania. Katie has spent the last 18 years as a homemaker, homeschooling her 3 children and staying active as a leader in church groups and the local homeschool association. She has enjoyed the challenge of playing a variety of roles, using her organizational skills in many different ways, and constantly adapting as one season of life moves to the next, changing the needs of her family and community.
One of the most difficult transitions is the loss of loved ones, and in supporting her mom as they downsized grandparents' households, Katie developed a clear picture of a lifetime of accumulated objects, and the emotions that are so inherent in dealing with each item, and its memories. In going through the loss of her father, a period in which the whole family focused time and energy on treasuring each bittersweet moment, it was clear how a season of busyness can very naturally leave disorder and clutter in its wake, and it can be so hard to find the emotional stamina to recover. Many people need help to rediscover normal and process items and emotions after a difficult season.
We all lead busy lives with varied obligations pulling us in so many directions and need someone to come in at times to help us break through the wall of decision fatigue or to refocus on our priorities. Sometimes, lack of time or accountability make organization difficult, and Katie realized she had a real passion to walk these journeys with others.
Combining her logical, analytical way of problem solving with her empathetic nature and energetic personality, she listens to the needs of her clients, learns about their routines and how they function in their spaces, and creates solutions that fit their lifestyles. Katie started this company to help clients tackle their clutter, organize their surroundings, and bring peace, function and freedom into their lives, so they can focus on what they treasure - both the physical items and the priorities of their lives.
